This remarkable set of posters was designed by Simon Page, a designer/illustrator based in London.
These posters caused quite a stir when they first began appearing on the webernets, and I'd be remiss not to include them somewhere on this evolving collection of the best-of-the-best in every category. From the official site, "The International Year of Astronomy 2009 is a global effort initiated by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and UNESCO to help the citizens of the world rediscover their place in the Universe through the day- and night-time sky, and thereby engage a personal sense of wonder and discovery."
I absolutely adore the approach Mr. Page used for this set. The tone I'm establishing are styles and motifs that are timeless. This set is exactly that, via beautifully rendered designs that breathes fresh life into the science and ignites imagination and wonder. These images all link to the full set on Page's portfolio site.
